The Original Third Reich Police Faithful Service Cross 2nd Class For 18 Years- (Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei, II. Klasse für 18 Jahre) was instituted on January 30, 1938, and was issued from 1938 to 1945. Constructed of silvered zinc, it features a loop for suspension from a period replacement ribbon. The medal still retains majority of the silver, with most of the wear on the edges of the cross. The design consists of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms. The obverse displays a central Ordnungspolizei insignia, comprising an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. The reverse bears a central oval medallion inscribed with "FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI" ("FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE"). The cross is unmarked and is in excellent overall condition.
