The second model carrier has a closure strap to hold the shovel down instead of the leather cap on the first model carrier, which is attached to the back of the carrier. The closure strap affixes to a stud on the horizontal strap for a secure closure. A back strap, which is stitched and riveted attaches to the belt and the other small strap, is to hold the bayonet in place next to the carrier. The carrier case features a triple layered, closed back frame in the shape of the shovel head with machine stitched and riveted, outer edge seams. The main body panels of the carrier are made from a presstoff material. The carrier have on the inside edge a raw hide material for re-enforcement which is stitched and riveted. Correct Hardware with 4-cord white thread, 3 Letter Code and waffenampt. Slightly aged to sell as originals. These are made in Europe and are of Excellent Quality and they are well worth the money!
