Unissued Original Waffen SS 29th Grenadier Division (1st Italian) Collar Tab-
This is an original, textbook example of the distinctive SS Italian Volunteer Collar Tab, designated for members of the 29th Waffen-Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Italian). Non-Germanic volunteers in this division were assigned unique national emblem collar tabs, rather than the standard SS runic tab, with even German cadre of SS members adopting this design. The Italian fascist emblem is finely machine-embroidered in off white thread on traditional SS black wool cloth. On the reverse, the light tan buckram stiffener is visible, with characteristic white stitching typical of late-war production pieces found at Dachau in 1945. The collar tab remains in excellent condition, showing only minor age toning to the backram, with no moth damage or major flaws—making it a highly desirable piece of Waffen SS foreign volunteer insignia.
