Approximately 80% of the original silver paint remains on the exterior of the buckle, giving it a slight weathered appearance, while an impressive 95% of the original paint is still visible on the back. The reverse side, similar to the front, shows wear marks from the combat belt, with some areas of paint loss and rust. Despite these signs of wear, the details of the buckle remain crisp.
The leather belt is marked as size 105, although the tip has been cut off. The belt hook catch retains some of its early war gray-green paint. The leather remains supple but exhibits cracking from wear and age. There is a faint marking on the belt hook catch tab. Overall, the belt is used but remains in very good condition.
Overall in very good condition, this Waffen SS belt & buckle stands as a tangible relic of a pivotal era in history, capturing the essence of craftsmanship and valor amidst the tumult of war.
