Original US WWII US Navy Leather Flight Cap Helmet AN6540-3L- Soft and smooth brown leather on the outside and a soft chamois lining on the inside. There is a tag marked AN6540-3L Cont. No. N288s-12364 SLOTE & KLEIN. To the right of this tag it appears someone has written their name with ink. The other tag states LARGE. On the backside there is a USN stamped on the leather. The chin strap is getting dry and needs conditioner -- use with care. Otherwise the leather and lining are in excellent condition. The lining has some slight discoloration due to use and age, but still very soft.
