Original U.S. WWII M1943 Folding Shovel With First Model Carrier-
The folding shovel is also known as a Entrenching Tool (or E-Tool). It is an essential part of a soldier's gear, used both for digging defenses or shelters and, in certain situations (with a sharp blade) used as a weapon.
The E-tool is maker marked and dated "U.S. WOOD 1945". It is in solid, working condition. This authentic First Model carrier, which was introduced in 1938, is marked and dated "BRESLEE MFG. CO. 1943". It shows some stains and discoloration. The belt hook is attached to the reverse side. Overall in very good condition.
