Description

Original Third Reich Early SA Dagger by Justinuswerk- This original Third Reich Early SA Dagger, crafted by Justinuswerk. The wooden grip presents itself in remarkable condition, boasting rich brown tones that speak to its enduring quality. Adorning the grip is the iconic grip eagle, accompanied by the SA roundel. While the detailing on the eagle, including the wing feathering, wreath, and swastika, remains discernible, there are signs of wear and use with its age. There is a leather piece on the wooden handle that is used with the three piece SA dagger hanger set up which shows age, but in excellent condition. Notably, the grip integrates into the crossguards, but with a very small gap on one side of the bottom crossguard. The crossguards displaying a gentle patina, further attests to its craftsmanship. Notably, the lower reversed crossguard bears the mark "BO," indicative of its association with the Bayerische Ostmark Gau District.

Etched with the SA motto "Alles für Deutschland" (All for Germany), the blade retains a significant amount of detailing, with most of the dark etching gone on the motto. The blade itself retains a very good amount of cross graining on both sides with minor surface scratches and runner marks. The reverse of the blade proudly bears the maker's mark "Justinuswerk (Justus Brenger & Co) Solingen" with some of the dark etching still intact. The blade shoulders align flawlessly with the contours of the crossguard, reflecting meticulous craftsmanship.

The scabbard, characterized by its straight form, maintains commendable condition with its brown anodized finish. Remarkably free from dings or dents, the surface does exhibit slight surface rust. The fittings on the scabbard are plated fittings, harmonize seamlessly with the crossguards' patina. No dents or dings and the original screws securely anchor the mounts, appearing untouched. In sum, this Early SA Dagger embodies historical significance and expert craftsmanship of the Third Reich era.
