Description

Original Third Reich Kreigsweihnachten 1939 4. schw. Ers. Batterie 231 Beer Stein- This is an original Third Reich "Kriegsweihnachten 1939" beer stein from the 4th Schweres Ersatz Batterie 231, commemorating Christmas during the early stages of the war for a heavy artillery battery. The stein features a detailed depiction of a heavy howitzer camouflaged with foliage, with artillery crew members surrounding it. In the foreground, an NCO holds binoculars, while rolling hills and a forested background create a scenic wartime setting.

The pottery stein is in excellent, solid condition, with vibrant and colorful imagery that remains well-preserved. It comes with a lid inscribed with the name Hans Sippl, adding a personal touch. At some point, the original swasika appears to have been removed (de-Nazified), but a swastika was later repainted on the stein. Despite these alterations, the stein is free from chips, cracks, or repairs, making it a highly collectible piece.
