This original Hitler Youth (HJ) knife, produced by Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co., Solingen, shows signs of use but remains in good overall condition. The blade exhibits some gray spotting, and one side appears to have been ground in an attempt to sharpen it. It is marked "RZM M7/13", and despite the wear, the tip remains sharp, and the fit is tight. The original black leather buffer pad is intact.
The black-painted sheet metal scabbard retains over 95% of its original finish, with scratches throughout but no dents. It features an intact dual runner inside. The blackened leather strap is complete with all rivets, and the snap closure functions properly.
The hilt, originally nickel-silver plated over a zinc base, shows significant wear, and the lower guard has been broken off. The two black checkered grip plates are in very good to excellent condition, securely fastened with two steel rivets. The HJ diamond emblem on the front grip is in perfect enamel condition.
Despite its wear and the missing guard, this is a solid example of an original HJ knife with an excellent scabbard and a well-preserved grip emblem—a great piece for collectors.
