This bayonet features a 40cm blade, unblued as originally manufactured, with a marking on the ricasso and a serial number located at the top of the hilt. The handle and cross guard exhibit surface rust, while the scabbard, which appears to have been factory-blued, shows surface rust throughout.
The wooden handle remains in excellent condition, with only minor wear consistent with age. The blade is sharpened along the first third of its length. Included is an original leather frog, showing some dryness due to age; the retaining strap for securing the scabbard has broken over time. Overall, this bayonet is in good to very good condition, making it a solid collectible piece.
