This authentic, issued M16 helmet retains approximately 15%-20% of its original exterior paint and 75%-80% of its interior paint. The partial leather liner has aged and dried over time, leaving 2/3 of the liner intact, with two remaining pad pockets. The helmet is marked "W66," indicating its size (66) and manufacturer, Hermann Weissenburger & Co., Stuttgart-Cannstatt. Despite its age and field use, this helmet remains in good condition and is an excellent example of a classic Imperial German WWI artifact.
