Original Imperial German WWI Infantry Metal Pickelhaube Helmet- Many metal helmets distributed from the start of the war to 1915. This model is the simplest, most common and made from spun metal. It is mounted with fittings in brass Mod1895. Retains about 95% of the original black factory paint, but most of the times these metal Pickelhaube helmets were repainted in a fieldgray color. The top of the dome is slightly dented and could be removed. which makes the spike lean. The chinstrap is missing, but one piece of brass hardware is still attached to the post. One cockade is still there on one side and the other one is missing. Still retains the leather liner, but four leather tongues are broken off. Drawstring remains. It is faintly marked 56 on the rear inside visor. In good condition.
