Original German WWII Heer Tropical Pith Helmet Shield Non-Matching Set-
Heer Tropical Helmet Shields were introduced in late 1940, with the impending German entrance in the North African campaign, tropical uniforms, headgear, and equipment that were quickly developed and issued in time for Deutsches Afrika Korps (DAK) personnel arrival in Tripoli in February 1941. One of the new headgear items introduced was the tropical pith helmet which was based on the design of the earlier Kriegsmarine pith helmets.
This national eagle shield is very nice with minimal paint loss. Could use a gentle cleaning. All 3 prongs on the reverse side are intact and it is marked "K.W."
