This German WWII Tornister fur backpack is in very good condition and retains its original wartime character. The backpack is complete, though it does not include shoulder straps. It features D-hooks for easy attachment to Y-Strap D-rings. The tornister includes D-rings at the top of the fur covered flap for securing an A-frame and a leather tab near the bottom of the flap to attach the lower portion of the A-frame.
The majority of the fur on the flap remains intact and the leather trim around the flap shows some wear and tear consistent with age and use. All leather straps and hardware are intact, though the leather is slightly dry and would benefit from some leather conditioner.
This Tornister does not include a mess kit pouch, but it is nicely manufacturer-marked and dated "1940" on the back top. Overall, this is a great addition to any WWII German collection, offering both historical value and excellent preservation.
