This is an original Quist manufactured M40 helmet (Q66) that has been post-war camouflaged with a two- to three-color scheme. Some of the original factory paint remains visible beneath the camouflage.
The Heer decal is an original Quist national eagle, approximately 90% intact. The wire, applied post-war, is secured with a rear hook and two side attachments.
The helmet retains its original split pins, which still show traces of factory paint, though some areas have developed surface rust where the paint has chipped. The interior maintains a good amount of original factory paint with minor rust spots.
Fitted with a new reproduction liner and an aged chinstrap, this helmet is ideal for display or reenactment.
