Original German WWII M38 Heer EM/NCO Overseas Cap Dated 1940 Size 56-
This size 56 field cap is constructed of dark field grey wool with fold down flaps. There is some very slight fading throughout. There are two metal ventilation grommets, one on each side. Both have minimal corrosion. The front of the cap has a machine woven BeVo Heer Eagle in green-gray rayon thread and just below is a machine woven BeVo cockade. There is some green thread leftover from the previous soutache insignia that was originally on the cap, which it could have been either Panzergrenadier or Gebirgsjäger? The lining has proper manufacturer, dated 1940, and size markings. There is a hand drawn symbol on the cap lining (unsure of when that was drawn). Overall, this cap is in excellent condition.
