Original German WWII Luftwaffe Soldbuch And Temporary Release Certificate-
Beginning in 1939, German soldiers entering active military service were issued a pocket-sized Soldbuch (Paybook). This served as an official military record and identification document, granting the soldier the ability to draw pay and record key aspects of military service.
This original Luftwaffe Soldbuch belong to Flieger Rosner Heinz and documents his service from 1942-1945. It provides significant details regarding his military service, including information about pay, supplies, troop assignments, and medical history. It's not in mint condition, but the cover and pages remain intact. Dimensions: 4"x 5.5". Taped to the back inside cover are 2 pages titled "Merkblatt uber Selbsthilfe bei Kampfstoffeinwirkung" (translated: "Leaflet on Self-Help in Case of Chemical Warfare Agent Exposure"). This appears to be a period addition to the Soldbuch.
Also included is a "Certificat De Liberation Provisoire" (Temporary Release Certificate), dated 1945. The certificate matches the name in the Soldbuch and notes that Flieger Heinz suffered from a chronic bone infection and arthritis. The last page in the Soldbuch details leave authorizations during service.
Accompanying the Soldbuch is a small postcard depicting a field hospital, further proving the historical information provided.
This Soldbuch and documents would be a great addition to your collection!
