Original German WWII Aluminum Flare Pistol (Leuchtpistole) by Erma-Erfurt "ayf 43"
This WWII-era German aluminum flare pistol, manufactured by Erma-Erfurt in 1943 and marked with the code "ayf 43," is in excellent condition. The factory finish shows some wear to the black finish most likely from use and holster storage, and retains its original waffenamt 280 proof mark.
The brown grips are intact and features the original “D” ring at the bottom for attaching a lanyard. The bore is clean but does show signs of use. Mechanically, the flare pistol functions perfectly, with smooth operation when opening and dry firing; however, it has not been tested with live flares.
Overall, this is an outstanding example of a German WWII flare pistol, ideal for collectors seeking an authentic piece with minimal wear.
