Original German WWII Kriegsmarine Personal Embossed Photo Album- This leather album cover has a rare and killer embossed Third Reich Kriegs Flag and a scenic Torpedo boat out to sea along with the initials HB. It is bound with twist cord and 2 tassels. Albums like this are very rare, especially when filled with viewpoint photos taken by a young German Kriegsmarine sailor.
The first photo appears to be one of the soldier who assembled this keepsake album. It is captioned "Meine Mittelmeerfahrten mit Torpedoboot KONDOR 1937/38 (My Mediterranean Trips with the Torpedo Boat "Kondor" 1937/38). This album has 105 period photos (1 photo is loose). There are a total of 68 photo/card stock pages (40 pages empty, never used). Photos include the ship in port, sailors with summer white uniforms, visit to a port in Spain, wearing sport shirts, going through Gibraltar, visiting Africa, site seeing, sailors hanging out below deck, sailors in bathing suits, Spanish soldiers marching, German U-Boats docked in Spanish port, sailors in winter blue uniforms, visiting Rome, Italy and a photo of the Prinz Eugen under construction. The album measures approximately 14" x 10". It is in excellent, used condition.
