Original German WWII Heer Single Decal M42 Helmet EF64-This helmet, manufactured by Emaillerwerke Fulda (EF), once had a Heer decal, of which only about 2-4% remains, likely due to aging and wear. The helmet seems to have been stored in a dry area, leading to deterioration over time. Despite this, the leather liner remains intact, though most of the liner’s fingers have broken off, with the original drawstring still attached. The liner is a size 57.
The exterior retains the majority of its factory-applied dark field gray textured paint, though there are scrapes and scratches on the dome. The front two split pins have lost all of their paint and exhibit surface rust, while the rear split pin still has its original paint. The interior retains most of its original paint, with some minor rust and scrapes present.
The helmet is stamped with batch number 2236 and marked EF64. It includes a chinstrap that is faintly marked, dry, and slightly modified—possibly a period adjustment, though this is uncertain. Overall, the helmet is in good condition given its age and history.
