Original German WWII Heer Steel Belt Buckle With Leather Tab By Schmolle & Co Dated 1940-
The buckle retains 0% of its original factory paint on the front, though the Heer eagle, rope, oak leaves, and "Gott Mit Uns" inscription are still visible and well-defined. The back still holds about 40% of the original factory paint, though there is a noticeable area of rust and pitting. The leather tab, marked "Schmolle & Co" from Menden and dated 1940, is legible but difficult to read due to wear. While the leather tab remains intact, some of the cotton thread has come loose. This is a desirable marker. The buckle is maker-marked with the "wee tree logo between the 'S C'" of Schmolle & Co, and remains in good condition.
