Original German WWII Aluminum Police Belt Buckle With Tab-
This is a fine example of an early-war Polizei (Police) Enlisted Man/NCO belt buckle (Koppelschloß), crafted from aluminum. The front features an embossed central swastika surrounded by a detailed wreath bearing the iconic motto "Gott mit uns" ("God with us"). The single-piece aluminum construction showcases a pebbled background, which remains in excellent condition with nearly all the texturing intact. The wreath's intricate details are also sharp and well-preserved.
Notably, the backside of the buckle shows evidence of an attempted melt or tampering, though this does not detract significantly from its overall appeal. The buckle is manufacturer-marked with the boxed "W" logo of E. Ferd. Wiedmann.
The original dark brown leather pull tab is present and faintly stamped with the manufacturer’s details: E. FERD. WIEDMANN, dated 1938, and the location FRANKFURT A.M.S. The leather remains intact, though the markings have faded over time.
Despite the minor issue on the reverse, the buckle and tab remain in overall excellent condition, making it a great addition to any collection of WWII German memorabilia.
