This original German WWII M42 Single Decal Luftwaffe helmet, size ET66, was discovered in a Pennsylvania home and remains an excellent example of a wartime bring-back. The helmet retains much of its factory-applied Luftwaffe gray/blue textured paint, with some rust spots on the exterior due to prolonged poor storage conditions.
The 2nd Model Luftwaffe decal is approximately 85% intact, showing wear with minor scratches, predominantly on the right wing. The helmet still features its original leather liner and drawstring, although the liner has dried over time, with some fingers broken from age. The long side of the original chinstrap is included and is complete but currently attached with a wire, which could be removed. The shorter chinstrap portion is missing.
The interior of the helmet shows some paint loss on the dome due to natural aging, though it remains free of rust. This helmet has never been part of a collection and is in good overall condition, making it an authentic piece of history and a fine example of a U.S. veteran bring-back.
