Original Very Early Third Reich Heer M18 Double DecalTransitional Late War Reissued Helmet-
An original M18 helmet and refurbished for the Third Reich with decals. A few years later the helmet was repainted and the decals were painted over, but new Heer & Tri-color decals were applied. You can see the decals under the decals. During the wartime years the decals were completely covered over with a textured fieldgray paint. Someone after the war most likely took some paint remover to uncover the decals. The original non-reinforced aluminum liner is original to the helmet and is maker marked on one of the tongues and has a size 62 on the stamp. Some of the original chinstrap and hardware remains. A large dent is in the front of the helmet. A rare helmet with a lot of history. Good to very good condition.
