Description

Original Third Reich Model 1938 German Red Cross Leaders Dagger By Carl Julius Krebs- This is an original Third Reich Model 1938 German Red Cross Leader's Dagger by Carl Julius Krebs. The dagger features well-preserved nickel-plated zinc mounts, with the zinc-based, nickel-silver plated cross guard in decent condition. The medallion displays a finely vaulted swastika on the bird's chest and a cross in its talons, though some plating has worn off. There is slight damage near the pommel screw, likely from an attempt to turn it. The plastic grip is a striking light orange color. The scabbard is straight, dent-free, and retains good nickel plating, although it shows significant patina from years of poor storage. The throat is secured by two untouched dome head screws. The blade is nearly mint, with minor gray spots, full cross grain, and a needle-like tip. It features a well-etched crowned K "Carl Julius Krebs Solingen" maker mark. The original black leather buffer pad remains intact. Despite minor defects, the blade's excellent condition helps compensate for them. Overall, the dagger is in good to very good condition.
