This original German WWII M40 helmet features a full chicken wire basket, securely attached by folding it under the rim. The shell retains some of its original factory dark fieldgray paint and was originally a no-decal helmet, making it suitable for Heer or Waffen-SS impressions.
Manufactured by SE (Sächsische Emaillier- und Stanzwerke) in size 64, the helmet retains its original split pins, which have lost most or all of their factory-applied paint. It has been fitted with an aged reproduction size 56 liner and an aged leather chinstrap, making it an excellent piece for display or reenactment.
