Original Waffen SS Type II Planetree 1/2 Smock- This well-used Type II pullover smock is made from early Planetree 1/2 pattern camouflaged cotton duck fabric, featuring a vibrant summer-to-fall reversible design. The collar edge on the summer side is lined with mid to late war Planetree 3/4 camouflage material. The foliage loops on the spring/summer side have been removed, a common modification by Waffen SS soldiers, while the fall side foliage loops remain intact and secure. The pocket flaps are constructed from mid to late war Planetree 1/2 summer and autumn colors. The smock includes five pairs of machine-sewn drawstring eyelets on the chest, with the original full-length olive-colored drawstring still present. The reversible waist pockets are made of correct reed green herringbone twill (HBT) fabric. The waistband on the fall side is mid to late war Planetree 1/2. The sleeve ends feature a selvedge edge, and each of the four pocket flaps is missing its button. The smock is assembled with black thread throughout, and the elastic around the waist and cuffs is in excellent condition. Aside from a small hole in the back, this smock is in excellent condition overall, making it a beautiful example of a Waffen SS Type II Smock.
