Original Third Reich NSDAP Early Ortsgruppe Local Group Level PoliticalLeader's Visor Cap-
This original Third Reich NSDAP Early Ortsgruppe (Local Group Level) Political Leader's visor cap showcases several distinct features characteristic of early patterns, which differ from later-issued versions. It prominently displays a silvered spread-wing NSDAP Reichsadler (national eagle) insignia on the front, without the oak leaf wreath found on later caps. Below the eagle is the metal NSDAP tri-color cockade set on a velvet band, which includes a small central swastika surrounded by red translucent enamel—a detail specific to political leader caps. Both the eagle and cockade are in excellent condition, with minor plating loss on the eagle but otherwise well-preserved.
The cap features a gold bullion chinstrap, secured by gold pebbled aluminum buttons, identifying it as an Officer/Leader's cap. The visor is made from dark brown "vulcanfibre," with a brown cross-hatched underside. There are some moth holes present throughout the cap, indicative of its age.
Inside, the cap is lined with cream-colored rayon fabric, and the diamond celluloid sweat shield remains fully intact. There is no size marking or RZM label under the sweatband, which is crafted from natural-finished leather and remains in very good condition, though it exhibits some stain spots. It is approximately a size 56 or 57. Despite its wear, the cap is well-preserved, maintaining its historical and collector's value.
