Original Third Reich 4-Year Long Service Medal-
Established in 1936, Hitler ordered the institution of a service award in 4-year classes, each class reflecting the completion of a select number of years in the military. The award was given by each branch of the Wehrmact (Heer, Kriegsmarine, and Luftwaffe) and was issued for 4-years of service (4th class, silver medal).
This Wehrmacht Service Medal (Dienstauszeichnung der Wehrmacht) is in excellent condition. The edge of the medal is embossed "Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht" which translates to "Loyal Service in the Armed Forces". The reverse side bears a wreathed "4" in the center. It is unmarked.
The ribbon shows some fading due to poor storage. The medal loop is intact and comes with the original blue rayon ribbon. Overall still in good condition.
