Description

Original Imperial Japanese WWII Naval "Rabbit Ears" Trench Optics With Tripod - These historical naval optics, often referred to as "Rabbit Ears," bear the distinct black paint indicative of their use by the Imperial Japanese Navy. It's important to note that the Imperial Japanese Army utilized brown and green variations. While these optics have seen some use, their left eyepiece remains clear, while the right optics exhibit some speckling, yet retain the distance graticules (grid). The diopter adjustment for the eyes may require a bit more effort to turn, but it remains functional. On the right side eyecup, there is a minor hairline crack and chip. Additionally, a small recessed screw for the diopter adjustment on the left side is missing.

Despite their age and use, approximately 90% of the original black factory paint remains intact. Notably, most of the paint loss is confined to the edges due to normal wear and tear. These optics bear the maker's mark "NIKKO" and boast an 8X6 magnification. In overall assessment, they can be characterized as being in excellent condition, serving as a tangible piece of history from World War II-era Imperial Japan.
