Original German WWII Dress Bayonet Long Model No Maker (Alcoso)-
This is an excellent example of a German WWII dress bayonet, long model, attributed to Alcoso despite being unmarked.
- Hilt: The hilt retains much of its original nickel plating, though it shows some dulling from age and use. The reverse side displays moderate wear, particularly on the pommel and the front and back of the crossguard. The mortise button is fully functional and in good condition, though most of its plating has worn away.
- Grip Plates: The black grip plates are in very good to excellent condition. A small chip is present on the back plate, but they remain firmly secured by two steel rivets with dressed heads.
- Scabbard: The scabbard is straight and exceptionally well-preserved, retaining approximately 99% of its original factory paint. Minor scratches are present, but do not detract from its overall appearance.
- Blade: The long blade, featuring a traditional wide fuller construction, is in mint condition with a pristine nickel-plated finish. It is unmarked but reflects the high-quality craftsmanship typically associated with Alcoso. The original brown leather buffer washer remains intact, adding to the authenticity of the piece.
This bayonet is in overall excellent condition, with only minor signs of age and use. It would make an outstanding addition to any WWII collection.
