Original German WWII Infantry Unit Etched Dress Bayonet Short Model By E. Pack-
This is a striking Infantry Unit Etched Dress Bayonet featuring the inscription: “Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit beim Inf. Rgt. 32” (In remembrance of my service with Infantry Regiment 32). While the bayonet is unmarked, the fittings and etching style are attributed to the maker E. Pack.
- Blade: The plated blade remains bright, though it exhibits light surface rust spots and some minor areas of graying.
- Hilt: The nickel plating on the hilt is in very good condition overall. There is wear on the reverse of the crossguard and pommel plating, but the mortise button remains fully functional.
- Grip Plates: The black grip plates are in excellent condition, securely attached with two screws and rounded nuts on the reverse.
- Felt Insert: A green felt insert, often associated with panzer grenadiers, is present in the mortise slot for the K98 cleaning rod.
- Scabbard: The black-painted scabbard retains about 50% of its original factory-applied paint, with some areas of minor surface rust where the paint has worn away.
- Frog: Includes a leather dress bayonet frog in very good condition, showing only light wear.
This bayonet represents Infantry Regiment 32, a unit involved in numerous campaigns throughout WWII, adding a strong historical appeal to the piece.
