This original WWII-era German ammo crate measures approximately 16" x 14" x 7" and remains a solid and collectible piece. The webbed carrying straps are in excellent, sturdy condition, and the hinges and hardware are fully intact, painted in black.
Some of the original German WWII labels—possibly Czech or Slovak in origin—are still visible, though not all are legible. It's most likely the ammunition was manufactured in Czechoslovakia and transported in this crate for use by the Wehrmacht.
The lid of the crate has a US Soldiers rank, name and address shipped to another US soldier. The crate is in good overall condition, with signs of wear consistent with wartime shipping and decades of storage. This historical item is a great addition for collectors of WWII military memorabilia.
